CenterStage and Artistic Director John R. Leffert will be staging Mel Brooks’ classic cult comedy at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) July 23-Aug. 9.

In addition to the motorcycles, memorabilia and accessories, “Wind in Your Hair -Vintage Motorcycles” will include visual artists’ interpretations of the freedom, movement and exhilaration that motorcycles have represented in our society and culture. KMAC will also present a series of restoration and customizing workshops, lectures about collecting motorcycles and the cultural influences of motorcycles in the 20th & 21st centuries.

Lindy & Bill Street Gallery
The Center for Photographic Studies was a Louisville alternative school for creative photography founded by C.J. Pressma in 1970. During its eight-year existence, the Center attracted students from over 35 states and foreign countries to its full-time resident program and provided instruction and darkroom access for hundreds of students in the Louisville area. Using silvered bottles, clear stones, thin steel rods with glass and bubbles inside bubbles, the artwork describes moments of gazing into the mirror at a bar, stacking stones, blowing wishes with a dandelion and playing with soap bubbles.
As well, Casey will also install a hanging chandelier in Glassworks' main lobby. Entitled "Offering", the silvered glass sculpture is loosely inspired by Shel Silverstein's"The Giving Tree".

As a conscientious objector the Vietnam War, Fritz Klemperer began serving his two year alternative service in Kenya. He joined the merchant marine, drove an ambulance and taught school. Since then, Klemperer has returned to Kenya six times in over 40 years. Klemperer is a psychologist who lives with his wife and three children in Berea, Ohio.

About the Artist: Since graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a major in architecture, Casey has traveled through Seattle, Tennessee, North Carolina, and New York studying and working at craft schools. Dressed in historic period costume, your lantern bearing guide will lead you through the dark mysteries and supernatural experiences of some of Louisville's most haunted landmarks including the Brennen House, the Old City Jail, and the Seelbach Hotel. This tour is appropriate for all ages and includes stories of the tragic spirit of the Lady In Blue, the Legend of the Stick Witch, and the mysterious apparition at the Palace Theater. The exhibition will explore the park's beginnings as a boat landing in 1814, through the Great Depression and the Great Flood of 1937 to the 64-acre attraction's demise amid the effects of urban flight and racial tensions of the civil rights movement.
